The customer's mission was to improve people’s financial wellbeing by giving them access to unpaid wages on demand. They want to enable employees to meet short term liabilities by providing employees with access to their unearned income in exchange for a fair transaction fee and access to effective personalised financial management tools.
The system enables the simplest ‘payment advance’ experience. This means simply texting the amount they want advanced (eg ‘25’) to a VancePay number, then receiving the money in their account. The primary advantage of the system is that the users can use this product ‘on the go’ at any time during the day, as cash management issues arise at unexpected times, and in almost any situation. The service supports both mobile and desktop/laptop access.
Thanks to the Open Banking protocol in the UK it also offers data analysis of an individual’s spending and supports custom advice for improving cash management.
